Milwaukee apartment fire, 14th and State, 1 taken to hospital

MILWAUKEE - Firefighters on Friday morning, Jan. 31 responded to the scene of an apartment fire near 14th and State in Milwaukee. Crews were dispatched to the scene around 5:40 a.m.
What we know:
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found fire on the third floor of a three-story apartment building. The fire was contained to one apartment.
One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

A Milwaukee County Transit System bus was at the scene to keep residents warm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
