Milwaukee police chase, crash; driver hits tree, vehicle catches fire
MILWAUKEE - Five people were taken to the hospital following a police chase and crash in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
According to police, officers spotted a vehicle that was wanted in connection to an armed robbery around 5:15 p.m. near 19th and Center and attempted to make a stop.
The driver refused and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the driver lost control and struck a tree near 82nd and Burleigh.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to catch fire.
The driver and front passenger, an 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl, had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Three additional occupants, a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman, were arrested.
All the occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
Several firearms were recovered. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days.
