PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. - Pleasant Prairie police were conducting traffic enforcement on Thursday, Jan. 29 and one of the department's officers ended up being involved in a serious three-car collision.

What we know:
The wreck happened at Green Bay Road and Highway 165 in Pleasant Prairie just an hour after their traffic enforcement for speed and reckless driving.
The offending driver was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed and failure to obey a traffic signal.

Officials say the squad was totaled, and the officer spent several hours in the hospital with serious injuries. The officer is expected to make a full recovery.
