The Brief

    • A tactical situation near Geneva and Hagerer streets in Racine is now resolved.
    • Law enforcement responded to the area around 7 a.m. for an incident involving a firearm.
    • The suspect was uncooperative, but eventually was taken into custody around 12:20 p.m.

RACINE, Wis. - Racine police responded to the area near Geneva and Hagerer streets on Sunday morning, Jan. 12 for an incident involving a firearm. 

Shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday, police began a dialogue with a man who remained uncooperative. The Racine Police Department Swat Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were activated.

Officials say the suspect was taken into custody at around 12:20 p.m.

No members of the community or the Racine Police Department suffered any serious injuries – and there is no threat to the community.
