Wisconsin 1st Buc-ee's travel center planned for Oak Creek

Oak Creek leaders announced on Thursday, Jan. 23 it will be discussing a planned Buc-ee's travel center in the city during a Plan Commission meeting on Jan. 28. 

Buc-ee's coming to Oak Creek?

What we know:

The proposed build site is located at the southwest corner of I-94 and Elm Road. It would be home to a 73,370 square foot convenience store/fueling plaza and feature 120 gas pumps, including ethanol-free, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and EV charging.

A news release says the store’s anticipated opening in early 2027 will mark a milestone, as it is expected to be the first Buc-ee’s to be built in the state.

What's next:

Following the City Plan Commission meeting next week, two public hearings will be held. The first hearing is Feb. 17 – and the second hearing is tentatively expected to be held on March 18. That is when the Oak Creek Common Council will consider a Future Land Use Map amendment and a rezone.

The Common Council anticipates a vote on those items that evening.
