HARTFORD — A 47-year-old Hartford man is dead after his vehicle collided with a train Friday morning.

Officers with the Hartford Police Department were dispatched to the scene of N. Wacker Dr. between Wisconsin St. and Pine St. just before 8 a.m. Friday.

An investigation shows contributing factors that led to the accident include the roadway being slippery from the falling snow, limited visibility due to the vehicle’s windows being largely covered with snow and ice, and potentially inattentive driving due to cell phone use at the time of the accident.

The driver’s name is not being released until after family has been notified.
