WAUKESHA — The Waukesha Fire Department responded a to fire at the Casa Del Rio Mexican Restaurant on E. Main Street near Hartwell Ave. early Friday morning.

Officials say the fire broke out in the rear of the building in an entrance way, which leads to the main restaurant area. Authorities say the entrance way suffered significant damage as a result of the fire.

Fire officials say they were able to extinguish the fire in five to 10 minutes — which saved the building.

Officials say the restaurant was unoccupied at the time of the fire — so no civilian casualties occurred. However, one firefighter did sustain minor injuries as a result of the fire.

Authorities estimate nearly $30,000 damage was caused to the building.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
