16 arrested on Super Bowl Sunday for OWI offenses

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 16 people were arrested on Super Bowl Sunday for OWI, during OWI Task Force patrols. These patrols involved 12 agencies from across the Milwaukee area, as well as the state patrol.

The OWI Task Force consisted of nearly 40 officers from municipal agencies, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

During patrols, officials recovered one missing/endangered subject, two state-level OWI arrests, one OWI arrest (first offense) with a minor in the car, one OWI arrest (fifth offense) with a minor in the car and one OWI arrest (fourth offense).

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office extended its weekend OWI patrols through Sunday due to the Super Bowl.
