CHICAGO (WITI) — The Wisconsin Badgers hopes of winning the Big Ten Championship ended on Sunday when they fell to Ohio State 50-43 at the United Center in Chicago on Sunday, March 17th.

The Badgers looked strong in the first half when they went on a 14-0 run and took a 9 point lead on Ryan Evans’ hook shot. But by halftime, the Buckeyes had trimmed the 9 point lead down to 1.

The Badgers would never lead by more than 2 the rest of the way, with their last lead coming on Sam Dekker’s lay up at the 7:03 mark making it 41-39. After that, the Buckeyes’ defense held Wisconsin to 0-6 shooting and only 2 free throws the rest of the way.

To get to the tournament final,  the Badgers beat the regular season league champion Indiana 68-56 on Saturday, March 16.
