Investigating ongoing into Lafayette County triple homicide

LAFAYETTE COUNTY (WITI) -- Officials continued on Monday, April 29th to investigate a triple homicide that was discovered on Sunday in Lafayette County. On Sunday evening, a person of interest was taken into custody, after officials discovered a vehicle he was said to be driving, at Willow Park Apartments in Waukesha.

That person has been identified as 31-year-old Jaren Kuester of Waukesha. Residents told FOX6 News the man's father lives in the building.

Also on Monday, officials released the names of the three found dead inside a home in the 9000 block of Phillipine Road in Wiota Township in rural South Wayne, Wisconsin. They are: 70-year-old Gary Thoreson, his wife, 66-year-old Cloe Thoreson and his brother, 76-year-old Dean Thoreson.

Officials do not believe Kuester knew the victims.

On Sunday, officials were on the hunt for a 1998 Ford F150 pickup truck (blue in color with a blue topper) bearing the license plate of 220-489F. That truck was discovered at the Willow Park Apartment complex. Officials believe Kuester stole that truck from one of the victims in Lafayette County.

On Monday, the Willow Park Apartments' property manager was keeping all non-residents off the property.

"The suspect was not a tenant here. Our hearts do go out to the families of the victims and the suspect," Peggy Graves said.

Kuester and his vehicle have been returned to Lafayette County.
