MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A semi driver who ignored a height sign got stuck under the I-94 bridge on Mitchell Blvd. Friday evening, May 17th.

The truck suffered severe damage as the cab of the semi and the trailer split. The trailer is now wedged underneath the bridge.

Traffic was not affected on I-94 and cars can still get through on Mitchell Blvd.

A state bridge inspector has been called in to assess the bridge. A towing company is working to free the trailer.

The driver of the semi was issued a citation for failure to obey an official sign. It’s a three point violation and a $178.80 fine.

No one was injured in the incident.
