India.Arie, Brian Culbertson to headline African World Festival
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- African World Festival officials are proud to announce entertainment and ticket purchasing information for this year’s event which will happen Saturday, August 3 from Noon – Midnight at Henry Maier Festival Park.
India.Arie will headline the Miller Lite Oasis at 9:45 pm.
Selling over 3.3 million records in the United States and 10 million worldwide, her hits include “Video,” “Little Things,” “Ready For Love” and “I Am Not My Hair.”
Brian Culbertson, contemporary jazz all-star will perform on the Miller Lite Oasis at 8:00 pm. Over the years Brian has toured around the world working and performing with musical greats like Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, Musiq Soulchild and Natalie Cole to name a few. He has released thirteen albums and received many awards and nominations including nominations for the 2013 NAACP Image Award and 2012 Soul Train Award. Tim Bowman and legendary saxophonist Ronnie Laws will also take the stage earlier in the day.
Whether the soulful musings of R&B, Jazz infused scales, stirring Gospel or some down home Blues, the festival line-up offers something for all music fans. National entertainment rounds out with gospel's own J-Moss and local faith quartet, the Pastors featuring Bishops Walter Bates, R.J Burt, Darrell Hines and Pastor John McVicker. In addition, back by demand is Blues great Sir Charles Jones, Shirley Brown and "Stand Up In It" himself, Theodis Ealey.
Tickets for African World Festival are on sale now for only $12 and can be purchased at Awfmke.com or the African World Festival Offices (275 W. Wisconsin Ave. – Grand Avenue Mall) and over thirteen additional retail outlets with no incremental fees through August 1.

Tickets may be purchased and printed through any online option through August 3 as well as at the gate during the festival. Beginning August 2, ticket prices will be $17.
Providing even more value for festival-goers, patrons that arrive prior to 2:00 pm on August 3 who donate one non-perishable food item will receive $3 off the purchase of a ticket for those ages 13 and up or $7 off a ticket for children ages 6 – 12. Children under 6 are free at all times.
Limited Preferred Seating Tickets are also available for the three headlining shows, Sir Charles Jones, Brian Culbertson and India.Arie. Tickets are on sale now for $30 and include festival admission and preferred seating in front of the stage.
