Growing number of big names on sidelines for Packers

GREEN BAY -- There are a growing number of big names on the sidelines as the Packers continue training camp and get ready for their first preseason game on Friday.

Tackle Bryan Bulaga is expected to be out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in his knee during the Family Night Scrimmage on Saturday.  Coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson weren't ready to make that official on Tuesday, however.  Rookie David Bakhtiari took the snaps on the left side in practice, with Marshall Newhouse remaining on the right side Tuesday.

McCarthy also disclosed that receiver Jordy Nelson will miss the rest of the preseason after having a procedure on his knee Monday.  The nerve-related problem has bothered Nelson since college and after flaring-up at the start of camp, the decision was made to deal with it now.  Fellow receiver Randall Cobb also missed practice Tuesday with a biceps injury.
