OCONOMOWOC (WITI) -- A popular teacher in Oconomowoc is off the job after a bizarre recording appeared online. The post has some parents of students from Nature Hill Intermediate fearing for their children's safety.

Michael Krill is a popular, creative sixth-grade teacher at Nature Hill Intermediate.

His outside-the-box teaching style has earned him statewide recognition. Parents love the goofy videos he has set up on his own website to keep them in the loop.

However, it is a different post that caught their attention last week.

In what appears to be a podcast audio recording, Krill rants about his hatred for his own profession and religion.

Int he podcast, Krill can be heard saying things like:

"The more and more I work in education.  The more and more I despise education."

"I've hated school since I was a little boy.  I've never liked school.  I never wanted to be in school. The only reason I stayed in school was I kept being told my whole life that I need to make money."

"For some reason the Christians are afraid to see the truth, and the non-Christians are afraid to say the truth.  And the truth is what is bothering me."

Parents, who asked not to be shown on camera say the bizarre recording has them terrified of the popular teacher's mental state.

"As soon as we learned about it, that's when put our protocols into motion -- as soon as we heard it," Nature Hill Intermediate Principal Mike O'Connor said.

O'Connor says he learned of the recording on Friday, September 6th, and placed Krill on leave.

"Very concerned, concerned for Mike and his well-being and concerned about our students.  Obviously the safety of our kids is our number one priority," O'Connor said.

O'Connor says Krill has not just been a good teacher, but "the best he's ever worked with."

Krill told the school the post was not intended to be seen by parents.

FOX6 News stopped by Krill's home on Wednesday. There, a family member said he was at a meeting.

The audio recording has been removed from the website where it was originally posted.

I actually had him as a teacher back in summer school at nature hill one year. I feel this article is pretty true. Something was always off about Mr. Krill. He was a great teacher and all, but sometimes good teachers are too good to be true

So criticizing the bizarre superstitions & fairy tales & voodoo of Christianity is a firing offense? Do we live in a theocracy??
