Proposed Hard Rock casino in Kenosha

GREEN BAY (WITI) — FOX6 News has learned the Oneida Nation is supporting the Menominee Nation’s casino project in Kenosha.

The Menominee Nation wants to build a casino in Kenosha that has the financial backing of Hard Rock Café and Hard Rock Hotel. The proposal has federal approval.

Gov. Scott Walker has the final say on the project. He has indicated he would approve of the Kenosha casino project only if all 11 tribes in the state approve.

As of now, the Ho-Chunk and Forest County Potawatomi oppose the plan.

The governor met with leaders from the Ho-Chunk, Potawatomi, Menominee and Oneida tribes on Wednesday.
