The Cooking Mom puts a fun spin on Halloween treats

They taste as good as ever -- but you'll notice these Halloween goodies have a spooky spin. The Cooking Mom shows you how to whip together Mummy Dogs and Graveyard dirt cups.

Mummy Dogs

Ingredients:
1 can (8 ounces) seamless refrigerated crescent dough sheet
10 hot dogs
Ketchup and mustard

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll dough to make 1 large rectangle. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into thin strips. You should have about 40 strips of dough. Wrap about 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog to make it look like bandages. Leave about a 1/2 inch opening near the top for the face to peek out.

Place wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until dough is golden. Serve with ketchup and mustard for dipping. You can also use mustard or a can of spray cheese to make the eyes on the mummy.

Notes:
Why not make a ketchup/mustard spider web for dipping. It’s easy! Just fill a small bowl with ketchup. Squeeze mustard bottle to make two circles on top of the ketchup and a dot in the middle of the bowl. Use a toothpick to pull the mustard out from the center to make it look like a spider web. Too cool!

Graveyard Dirt Cups

Ingredients:
1 package Oreo Cookies
2 boxes instant (3.4 ounces each) chocolate pudding mix
3 cups cold milk
1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping
12 to 14 Milano Cookies
Chocolate or black frosting for piping letters
Candy pumpkins
12 to 14 small clear plastic cups

Directions:
Place Oreos in a food processor and pulse until crushed. You can use a rolling pin to crush them if you don’t have a food processor. In a large bowl, combine cold milk and pudding mixes. Whisk until well blended. Let sit until it starts to thicken. Fold whipped topping into the pudding.

Place a layer cookie crumbles on bottom of each plastic cup. Then add a layer of pudding mixture on top. Layer once or twice more ending with a thick layer of the cookie crumbs on top.

Cover each cup with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Use chocolate or black frosting in a piping bag to write RIP (rest in peace) or BOO on the top of each Milano cookie. Place cookie in each cup. Decorate cups with a couple candy pumpkins. Dig in!
