Man fatally shot in alley behind his own home, neighbors concerned

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Another shooting -- and another Milwaukee family is mourning. This time, the victim was shot dead in an alley behind his home near 68th and Fiebrantz. It was the middle of the day on Monday, June 2nd.

Police say the victim in this shooting is 34 years old.

Police say when they rolled up on the scene, rescue efforts just weren't enough.

"When they arrived here they discovered a male victim approximately 34 years of age suffering from gunshot wounds. He has succumbed to his injuries," said Lt. Justin Carloni of the Milwaukee Police Department.

While police scoured the home and garage for clues, loved ones came to the scene searching for answers.

Neighbor Steven Brown tells FOX6 News, he too was a victim of violence in his own yard.

"Little after October, somebody tried to rob me back here. They hit me with a hammer in the back of the head," said Brown.

Now people living in the neighborhood are growing concerned, wondering if the crime was random or targeted.

"I definitely would like to know what happened and like more details about it because this is my safety and my neighbors' safety," said Jimmy Jasso.

Police are combing through evidence and interviewing people. It's early in the investigation -- and police say there are no suspects in custody.
