Last remnants of snow gone, Sheboygan woman is winner in Superior's "Snowpocalypse" contest

SUPERIOR (AP) — The last remnants of snow are finally gone in Superior.

The judges in the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce's "Snowpocalypse" contest declared the last snow in the city's snow dump to have melted on Monday, July 7th

The Chamber of Commerce came up with a contest in May to guess when it would finally disappear. Gerry Olson of Superior had the right guess (among locals) and won a basket of prizes that included a family swim pass for a hotel, gift cards for food and gas and Blizzards for a year from Dairy Queen.

Winning the “out-of-towners” category was Leslie Filteau of Sheboygan with a guess of June 8, 2014. Filteau will receive the “out-of-towners” prize package including many of the same prizes.
