"Bambi went home:" Officers rescue fawn stuck in soccer net, and it's caught on camera
TOWN OF MENASHA (WITI) – A thunderstorm didn’t stop two police officers from freeing a fawn that was stuck in a soccer net – and a police dashboard camera caught the whole thing.
Officers John Swenson and Mike Weinberger came upon the deer while on patrol Saturday night, September 20th police say. The animal was tangled in a soccer net at a youth sports park near Gegan Elementary School on Menasha's east side.
It took about three minutes for the officers to cut the deer out of the net. After it ran off, the officers radioed back to dispatch, “Bambi went home!”
