Admirals edge the IceHogs, 2-1 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Admirals captain and Antigo native Joe Piskula broke a 1-1 tie with his first goal of the season with less than eight minutes to play in the game to give help the Ads to a 2-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Magnus Hellberg continued his magnificent play this season, allowing just the one goal on 29 shots to improve his record to 5-0. He has allowed just four goals all year, stopping 125 of 129 shots he has seen.

The win was gave the Admirals a sweep of the home-and-home series with the Hogs, who had won eight games in a row entering Friday night's game.

The IceHogs got on the board first when Teemu Teravainen beat Hellberg with a one-timer from the left circle 6:45 into the game just as an Ads penalty expired.

Milwaukee evened the score with 3:28 left in the second period when defenseman Garrett Noonan tallied his second goal of the season. Noonan weaved into the Admirals zone and fired a wrister that found its way through traffic and past Rockford netminder and former Admiral Scott Darling.

That set the stage for Piskula's heroics. With Triston Grant providing the screen on Darling, Piskula fired a one-timer that snuck by the Hogs netminder and put the Ads up 2-1 at the 12:28 mark of the third period.

The win was the fourth in the past five games for the Admirals, who return home to the BMO Harris Bradley Center next Friday night when they play host to the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action.
