Police: Vehicle crashes after fleeing robbery attempt at high rate of speed, man seriously injured

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police say a 26-year-old man was injured when the vehicle he was a passenger in crashed in the 2600 block of N. 49th Street on Friday, December 26th.

It happened around noon.

Police say shots were fired at the vehicle during a robbery attempted by two suspects on foot in the 2600 block of N. 50th Street.

The vehicle’s driver attempted to flee at a high rate of speed, and crashed into a concrete stoop.

The driver and passenger were not struck by gunfire.

The passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, but he’s expected to survive.
