Red Cross assisting eight people after fire breaks out at duplex near Forest Home & Grant

MILWAUKEE (WITI)  — The Red Cross is assisting eight people after a duplex fire early Saturday morning, March 7th.

The fire broke out around 3:27 a.m. at a duplex on Forest Home Avenue near W. Grant Street. Officials say five adults and three children were self-evacuated.

The fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to the building and $5,000 in damage to property.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
