Seventh major show: Kendrick Lamar to headline Summerfest July 1st with ScHoolboy Q
MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce the seventh major show slated for Summerfest 2015. Top Dawg Entertainment’s Platinum selling Grammy nominated recording artist Kendrick Lamar will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Wednesday, July 1st with special guest ScHoolboy Q.
Kendrick is one of the rare artists who has achieved critical and commercial success while earning the respect and support of those who inspired him. The huge success of his first major label album, “good kid, m.A.A.d city” (2012), positioned Kendrick as an exceptional storyteller and landed him seven Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year. Proving his ability to create compelling concept albums, his latest release, “To Pimp a Butterfly,” has been met with critical acclaim and includes tracks featuring Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Thundercat and George Clinton. Joining the tour is ScHoolboy Q, chart-topping hip hop artist and longtime collaborator with Kendrick.

PLEASE NOTE: To purchase Marcus Amphitheater tickets in person at the Summerfest Box Office on the day of the on sale, patrons must visit the temporary location at the Mid Gate on the corner of Harbor Drive and Chicago Street. Parking will be available across the street.

Summerfest 2015 will take place June 24th - 28th and June 30th – July 5th from Noon until Midnight and will be closed Monday, June 29th.
