Fire at home in New Berlin believed to have been caused by careless use of smoking materials

NEW BERLIN — Fire damaged a home Tuesday morning, August 25th in New Berlin.

It happened at a home on Westward Drive — just off of Calhoun.

No injuries were reported — but New Berlin fire officials say the fire caused heavy smoke damage.

It is believed the careless use of smoking materials may have started this fire.

Three people were inside the home at the time, but again, there were no injuries. Those residents were displaced, however.
