Local band "The Latchkeys" perform song they wrote for "Milwaukee Downtown's" newest campaign

MILWAUKEE -- "Milwaukee Downtown" has a new campaign to promote downtown Milwaukee as a great place to live, work, play and visit. The campaign features a catchy new song written by "The Latchkeys" -- a local band.

On The Latchkeys' website is the story of how the band came to be:

"Comprised of four young men, ages 17 to 21, The Latchkeys are young, but talented musicians.

Sam and Nate, along with middle brother Max started playing music together six years ago in the basement of their home. Because it was something they loved to do, they did it a lot. The more they played, the better they got and the more confident they became.

Although Max is one of their biggest supporters, other interests drew him away from further musical performance pursuits.

Josh, who provides the beats for the band, met Nate while both were attending the same high school and the two soon became fast friends, with similar musical tastes.

Josh introduced Dylan, his uber-talented guitarist neighbor and long time friend, to the group, and The Latchkeys were on their way.

From their first live performance in July of 2013 in Gorilla Music's Milwaukee Battle of the Bands held at The Miramar Theatre (wherethey took third place), to their latest show, the band has improved and developed a chemistry between themselves and an energy which is palapable to the audiences who have experienced a show.

The Latchkeys are making new friends and fans every time they perform, and are loving every minute of it."

The Latchkeys joined Studio A on Friday, August 28th to perform the song they wrote for "Milwaukee Downtown's" newest campaign.
