Man taken to hospital for mental health evaluation after tactical situation in Town of Vernon

WAUKESHA — Waukesha County sheriff’s officials say a man was taken into protective custody following a tactical situation on Thursday, November 5th.

This was occurring on Green Mountain Drive (in a subdivision off Oakdale Drive) in the Town of Vernon on Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff’s officials say they were alerted to the situation by a family member of the suicidal man.

Officials talked with the man for a lengthy period of time — and he eventually came out of the residence he was in, and cooperated with sheriff’s officials.

No one was hurt during this incident.

This incident began around 1:30 p.m., and the scene was cleared by about 5:00 p.m.

The 47-year-old man was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
