39-year-old West Bend woman arrested for 5th OWI; had child in car

WEST BEND — A 39-year-old West Bend woman was arrested Wednesday, December 9th for OWI — 5th offense, with a child in the vehicle.

The West Bend Police Department received a call  around 3:43 p.m. regarding an impaired driver with an 11-year-old child in the vehicle. The vehicle was located and stopped in the 1100 Block of West Washington Street, and the 39-year-old driver was found to be intoxicated.

Police say the woman failed the field sobriety tests and blew .213 into a PBT. An open intoxicant was also found in the vehicle.

The driver was arrested and placed in jail for 5th offense OWI with a penalty enhancement of a child in the motor vehicle. The driver was also issued a citation for an open intoxicant in the motor vehicle.

The 11-year-old child was unharmed in the incident and was turned over to the driver’s fiance at the scene.

    Mother of the year candidate! At 0.21 she must have been all over the road. I feel bad for the child. I just wonder what the home environment is like. Her fifth time OWI – she has a severe problem that needs to be corrected.
