It happened on Wednesday, December 16th on Three Mile, near Johnson Park Drive.

Officers were dispatched after receiving a report of a beaver in the roadway -- causing a traffic hazard.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found not Jerry Mathers -- but an actual beaver standing in the roadway.

An officer, using a trained and practiced technique, was able to coax the Beaver into his patrol vehicle.

The animal was then taken to a local pond, where he was given a short, but effective lecture on violations of state statue in regards to pedestrians yielding the right of way to vehicles when crossing the road.

The beaver was then released -- and pointed in the direction of some trees.

Police say the beaver was happy to be released, and waved goodbye to officers.
