Green Bay Packers on three-game winning streak with 30-20 victory over Oakland Raiders



OAKLAND, California -- The Green Bay Packers are on a two-game winning streak as they gear up to face the Oakland Raiders on the road on Sunday, December 20th.

The game is set for 3:05 p.m. and you can watch it ONLY ON FOX6!

The Oakland Raiders are 6-7 on the season. The Green Bay Packers improved to 9-4 with a win vs. the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field last Sunday, December 13th -- and the Packers sit atop the NFC North Division.

Packers fans will see a familiar face on Sunday as the team takes on the Raiders.

For seven seasons, from 2006-2012, Charles Woodson was a defensive standout for the Packers. He was the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. And on Sunday, he'll be wearing the other team's jersey.

Packers officials on Twitter posted a picture of Woodson and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers catching up on the sidelines ahead of the game.



The Oakland Raiders won the coin toss and opted to defer as play began in Oakland.

The Packers would get the ball.

The Packers started on offense with a three-and-out, and Tim Masthay took the field to punt for the Packers.

The Raiders' first offensive drive stalled out at midfield, and the Packers then took over on their own 27 yard line.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked on third down by Raiders DE Khalil Mack. It was then two straight three-and-outs for the Packers offense.

Micah Hyde was able to snag an interception on third down, and run the ball 34 yards -- back inside the Oakland two yard line.

A penalty was called on the Packers for celebration -- and that penalty resulted in the ball being moved back to the Oakland 17 yard line to start the next drive.

Early in this matchup vs. the Raiders, we learned the Green Bay Packers are headed into the playoffs. This, after the New York Giants lost to the Carolina Panthers.

The first score of the game came with a five-yard fun by John Kuhn.

Then, Damarious Randall, with a pick six, ran the ball for 43 yards into the end zone for a touchdown!

Raiders QB Derek Carr threw a 26-yard pass to Amari Cooper that carried to the Packers 23 yard line.

Raiders WR Seth Roberts dropped a would-be TD pass, and the Packers were flagged for holding.

The Raiders had a first down at the Packers seven yard line.

The first quarter came to an end with the Raiders facing third-and goal from the five yard line.

The second quarter started with the Raiders facing third-and-goal on the 5.

A Raiders field goal soon brought the score to 14-3 early in the second quarter.

Packers cornerback Quinten Rollins was able to break up a pass vs. Raiders WR Michael Crabtree on third and goal -- leading to the 23-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.

The Raiders scoring drive included 10 plays for 75 yards in 5:00.

Aaron Rodgers was sacked during the Packers' next offensive drive -- leading to another Packers punt. Rodgers tried to go deep to Davante Adams, but couldn't connect.

The Raiders would then take over on their own 22 yard line.

The Packers defense was able to hold the Raiders offense in the red zone, despite runs by Raiders RB Latavius Murray and catches by Crabtree.

Raiders kicker Janikowski came onto the field again to attempt a field goal. That field goal was good from 30 yards out -- bringing the score to Packers 14, Raiders 6 with 3:57 left to play in the first half.

The Packers would achieve one first down during their next offensive drive with a pass to James Jones-- but they were forced to punt again after a third-down pass to Richard Rodgers came up short.

The Raiders would begin at their own 30 yard line.

The Packers defense got a three-and-out -- but a Raiders punt pinned Green Bay at its own two yard line.

The offense got a big break on the next series, as Raiders cornerback TJ Carrie was called for a pass interference call against Randall Cobb on third down from the Green Bay seven yard line, keeping the drive alive.

Aaron Rodgers Rodgers then scrambled and found Cobb for 23 yards to convert the next third down, and he escaped pressure to find TE Justin Perillo to convert another third down.

That put the ball on the Oakland 40 at the two-minute warning.

Packers running back James Starks fumbled the ball, and the Raiders recovered it. It was ripped out by Raiders DE Benson Mayowa after Starks took a big hit from Charles Woodson.

The play was reviewed, and it was determined the fumble call would stand.

The Raiders would get the ball on their own 21 yard line with 1:22 left in the half.

The Raiders scored their first touchdown of the game with an 18-yard pass from Raiders QB Derek Carr to Amari Cooper.

With the extra point, the score was then Packers 14, Raiders 13.

As play resumed at O.co Coliseum Sunday afternoon, it was announced Packers linebacker Jayrone Elliott was out for the game with a quad injury.

The Packers opened the second half with a possession that began at the 50-yard line.

On the second play of the second half was a sack by Packers OB Julius Peppers. It was then third and long for the Raiders, who would punt the ball.

That punt was returned by Micah Hyde -- 14 yards to midfield -- and the Packers got back to work on offense.

A deep ball to Randall Cobb on fourth down drew pass interference flags -- and the penalty put the Packers in the red zone. It would be first down for the Packers on the 14 yard line.

On third-and-2 from the 6, Aaron Rodgers’ pass went through Jeff Janis’ hands.

Mason Crosby was good from 24 yards out. With the field goal, the score was then Packers 17, Raiders 13.

Raiders QB Derek Carr followed with a 41-yard bomb to Amari Cooper at the Green Bay 40.

The Raiders faced a fourth-and-one at the 31.

Latavius Murray exploded up the middle for three yards.

Two plays later, Carr threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Cooper and the Raiders led, 20-17, with 6:48 to play in the quarter.

Packers Jeff Janis was able to return the kickoff for 47 yards -- and the Packers would then start with the ball at midfield.

The Packers quickly answered the Raiders TD with a TD of their own! Packers James Jones caught a pass, and ran the ball into the end zone for 30 yards.

With the extra point, the Packers were again in the lead -- 24-20 with 5:46 left in the third quarter.

The Packers scoring drive included three plays for 53 yards in 1:02.

The Packers defense was able to force a punt by the Raiders -- and that punt was downed at the Green Bay five yard line.

It was then time for Green Bay's offense to get to work.

A pass to James Jones on the sideline, ruled incomplete, was being reviewed after it was challenged by the Packers.

It would be first down for the Packers on the 35 yard line.

The score was 24-20, with the Packers in the lead, as the fourth quarter began.

Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb converted second and 17 for the Packers -- and the Packers were in the red zone.

On third-and-six at the Raiders 11, the Raiders were flagged for pass interference in the end zone, putting the ball on the one yard line.

On third-and-goal from the three, Rodgers threw incomplete.

Back on defense, Julius Peppers got the sack -- taking down Raiders QB Derek Carr. A holding call was declined, and it was then fourth down for the Raiders.

Micah Hyde's punt return, plus a penalty on the Raiders put the Packers at the Oakland 36 yard line.

James Starks was then able to take the ball for 25 yards down to the eight yard line -- and it was first and goal for the Packers.

On third-and-goal at the five, Aaron Rodgers pitched an apparent back-shoulder touchdown pass to James Jones, but Jones was flagged for pass interference.

Now, from the 15, Rodgers threw incomplete, bringing on Crosby to provide a two-score lead.

The Packers would score with a 33-yard field goal by Mason Crosby. The Packers would lead the Raiders 30-20 with 4:25 left to play.

Packers Julius Peppers and Mike Neal then teamed up for another Packers sack -- and a Raiders fourth down pass was incomplete.

The Packers would then take over with 3:26 left to play in the game -- leading 30-20.

An interception of Aaron Rodgers by Raiders cornerback David Amerson at the one-yard line was reviewed, and it was ruled that the interception would stand.

The Raiders then took over at their own one yard line, with 2:36 left to play.

At the two-minute warning, the Packers were still on top -- leading the Raiders 30-20.

The Raiders were stopped on fourth down, and the Packers would take over with 1:31 left to play.

A 49-yard field goal attempt by Crosby was blocked -- and the Raiders would take over at their own 39 yard line with 1:05 to go.

The Packers would win this one -- their 10th win this season.
