Franklin Common Council unanimously agrees to timely review of The Rock stadium proposal

FRANKLIN -- Franklin's Common Council has unanimously approved an agreement to work with developers on a proposed baseball stadium at The Rock Sports Complex.

The Franklin Common Council approved the memorandum by Zimmerman Ventures to secure a timely review of its $130 million Ballpark Commons Development.

It doesn't mean the project ultimately will be approved, but it sets up the responsibilities for the developer and the city as it is reviewed.

The 6-0 approval is a turnaround from 2014, when Franklin's Common Council unanimously rejected a financing agreement for a stadium at The Rock.
