24-year-old woman who died in skiing accident at Cascade Mountain is identified

PORTAGE — Authorities have released the name of a 24-year-old woman who died in a skiing accident in south-central Wisconsin.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office identifies the victim as Bethany Rieth of Oconto Falls.

Rieth died after she struck a tree while skiing at Cascade Mountain Ski Hill. Authorities say she was not wearing a helmet.

Funeral services will be held Friday in Oconto Falls.
