Bicyclist dies after collision with semi in the City of Pewaukee

PEWAUKEE -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is investigating a collision between a bicycle in a semi in the City of Pewaukee on Monday afternoon, July 11th. The bicycle rider, identified as a 59-year-old man from New Berlin, has died as a result of this incident.

Officials say the semi was traveling westbound on Watertown Rd. and making a right turn to go northbound on Redford Blvd. The bicyclist was traveling westbound on Watertown Rd. and traveled into the path of the semi as it was making the right turn.

The operator of the semi was a 66-year-old man from Glendale.

Wisconsin State Patrol is now assisting with the truck inspection and the accident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

The intersection of Redford Blvd. and Watertown Rd. was closed for several hours.
