Hit-and-run crash causes power outage in South Milwaukee overnight

SOUTH MILWAUKEE -- A hit-and-run crash led to a power outage in South Milwaukee Tuesday night, August 2nd.

Police say a dark-colored SUV struck a utility pole at the corner of 7th Avenue and Mackinac Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

The crash caused the power line to snap -- wrapping itself around a transformer. The driver fled the scene and was last seen northbound on 6th Avenue.

Power was restored in the area -- and police continue to search for the driver.
