UWM Day at the Wisconsin State Fair! University celebrates 60 years in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Sunday, August 7th was University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM Day) at the 2016 Wisconsin State Fair!

FOX6's Jonathon Gregg spent the morning at the fair taking in all the sights and sounds.

UWM Day at the fair was a celebration of the university turning 60 years old!

The celebration included activities, experiments, games, giveaways, contests, cooking demos, face painting and photo ops taking place throughout the day.

Visitors were able to pal around with Pounce and scrimmage with UWM student-athletes, receive a free blood pressure screening, reconnect with alums, get advice from our admissions office, consult with a career counselor -- and more!

Kids under 12 were able to take part in the annual Roar-Like-a-Panther Contest at noon.

Jonathon also got to see a cow milking demonstration at the "House of Moo," and a brand new food item from Saz's -- the Racing Sausage Corn Dog -- a finalist in the fair's "Sporkies" food competition.
