2 men federally indicted for armed robbery of Milwaukee Walgreens store

MILWAUKEE -- Two Milwaukee men have been indicted for the August 14, 2016 armed robbery of a Walgreens store located in Milwaukee.

25-year-old Anthony Chappell and 28-year-old Christopher Morgan  were charged with one count of interference with commerce by robbery pursuant to the Hobbs Act and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Chappell was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and Morgan was charged with transferring a firearm to a prohibited person.

The indictment alleges that on August 14, 2016, Chappell and Morgan robbed the Walgreens store located at 2222 West Capitol Drive (near 22nd and Capitol) in Milwaukee. Morgan provided Chappell with a firearm.

At the time of the offense, Chappell was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.

If convicted, each man faces up to 20 years in prison on the armed robbery count and a minimum mandatory sentence of 7 years and up to life in prison on the charge of use of a firearm during a robbery.
