SALEM — An 18-year-old Kenosha man identified as Cody Grinus died from injuries suffered in a rollover crash that happened in the Town of Salem on Monday afternoon, November 21st.

The wreck happened shortly after noon on 60th St. (County Highway K) near 218th Ave. On arrival, deputies located a car that had been westbound on Highway K at a high rate of speed and lost control while negotiating the curve at that location. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over ejecting the operator who was not wearing a seatbelt. The seat belted passenger survived the crash with minor injuries.

Grinus was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Pleasant Prairie where he later died.

The injured party was identified as a 20-year-old man from Union Grove. He was transported to the hospital and released with minor injuries.

Officials say speed appears to be the predominant factor in this crash.
