'They had this planned:' Woman says suspects stole her car after coaxing her to put her own lawnmower in her trunk

30th and Vliet

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are searching for two suspects in connection with a garage burglary and vehicle theft -- and this isn't the first time the victim has been targeted by criminals.

The crime happened in the area of 30th and Vliet Street on Tuesday, July 3.

"They had this all planned. It's too much. This has been gong on year after year. I've never gotten my things back. Nothing," the victim said.

Milwaukee police released the above surveillance images of the suspects in this case, saying they stole a lawnmower and a vehicle.

"I looked in and saw the mower was gone, and I saw him in the alley running. That's when I went in the house and got my car keys," the victim said.

The woman, who said she fears she'll be targeted yet again, said she eventually caught up with the suspects. They asked her for money, and then coaxed her into helping them put the lawnmower in her own trunk. That's when they got into the driver's seat and took off.

"They didn't harm me. They just upset me," the victim said.

Neighbors said the crime has to stop.

"You just have to keep your eyes open. You can't trust people anymore. You just can't. Someone seems like they're a good Samaritan and it seems like just the opposite," a neighbor said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
