Police: Moped driver taken to hospital following collision in Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA -- The driver of a moped was transported to the hospital Friday morning, Aug. 24 following an accident in Wauwatosa. It happened around 7:20 a.m. on Mayfair Road near Townsend Street.

According to police, initial investigation indicates that a northbound car collided into the rear of a northbound moped.

The driver of the moped and was transported by Wauwatosa Fire Department paramedics to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. That driver has been reported as being in stable condition with injuries that are non-life threatening. The driver of the car was not injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has responded to assist the Wauwatosa Police Department with this investigation.

All northbound lanes of N. Mayfair Rd. (STH 100) were closed at W. Burleigh St. at 7:25 a.m. and will remain closed for the duration of scene investigation.
