Get ready to watch the Harley-Davidson 115th Anniversary Parade in downtown Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- The streets of downtown Milwaukee will come alive on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2 when thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles rumble down Wisconsin Avenue -- as part of the motorcycle maker's 115th Anniversary Parade.

"You see the enthusiasm of the Harley-Davidson owners, and even those that don't currently ride a Harley, they're excited," JT Hasley said.

This Labor Day holiday weekend, tens of thousands of people will descend upon the city of Milwaukee to celebrate all things Harley-Davidson -- the party culminating with the parade.

"And then there are those who don't even ride a motorcycle, yet, because we're making them every day," Hasley said.

"And then you hear people talk about it, how excited they were to come through downtown," Hasley said.

Here's the route: The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. at 45th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, continues east through downtown Milwaukee and lands at the Harley-Davidson 115th anniversary and HOG 35th Moto Carnival at Veterans Park.

"See all the people with signs, cheering and it's just -- I'm getting goosebumps," Hasley said.

In previous years, the parade would end at the Summerfest grounds, but with this year's events going on at Veterans Park -- riders felt it's a better place to rest the bike.

"If you don't find anything to do this weekend, come down to the Hog Moto Carnival," Hasley said.

Harley-Davidson has invited thousands of riders from around the world to ride in the parade, including custom bike builders, stunt teams, charitable groups, HOG chapters, as well as a few surprise guests.

Six-thousand, five-hundred people are expected to make an appearance in this year's parade. Early estimates indicate it will take roughly three hours to complete.
