MILWAUKEE -- A vehicle crashed into a home near 60th and Villard on Monday morning, July 22.

For Sheila Davis, it was a Monday she won't soon forget, after receiving a call from a friend saying she needed to get home immediately.

"My friend, my sister here, called me and... she thinks somebody hit your house," said Davis.

What Davis assumed was just a prank quickly turned into a situation that was no laughing matter.

"My heart starts beating real fast, and I have to leave work. I was like, 'I got to go. I think somebody ran into my house,'" Davis said.

The vehicle didn't just run into the house. It landed in Davis' bedroom.

Standing outside afterwards, Davis watched trash blow across her yard as the car -- left in a heap of twisted metal -- was hauled away.

"We just need people to slow down," said Davis.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash, but not long after, another vehicle rolled and came to rest in the front of another home just feet away -- near 27th and Villard. Davis said reckless driving had become far too common on that stretch of road.

"They need stop signs between Villard and Hampton, because it's just a straight shot. There's no stop signs," said Davis.

Police were investigating what caused the crash.
