MFD: Milwaukee DPW salt truck rolled near 114th and Mill; driver injured

MILWAUKEE — A City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works salt truck rolled over near 114th Street and Mill Road Saturday morning, Jan. 11.

Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department said the driver had to be extricated and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. when the truck was traveling southbound on 114th Street to service the road.

A spokesman with the DPW said this was the first pass-through for salting and the roadway “would’ve been especially slick.”

The extent of the driver’s injuries wasn’t immediately clear.
