8K+ positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin, 339 deaths, 3K+ recovered, 77K+ negative

MILWAUKEE — The number of people in the state testing positive for COVID-19 grew to 7,964, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported Sunday, May 3. Of those, 1,608 (20%) have required hospitalization. There have been 339 deaths statewide. More than 77,000 people (77,997) have tested negative.

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 3,281 positive cases and 189 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county as of Sunday afternoon.

Health officials reported additional cases Sunday to bring the statewide total of positive cases to 8,010. DHS data is as of 9 p.m. the night before.
