More than 8,000 lose power after severe storms come through SE Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE -- We Energies reported more than over 8,000 customers without power after severe storms came barrelling through southeast Wisconsin early Saturday afternoon.

We Energies crews were able to restore power to thousands as the afternoon went on.

According to the outage map, the largest outages seemed to be near Franklin and West Allis, with smaller outages affecting northwestern parts of the city of Milwaukee, St. Francis, Glendale and Brown Deer.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued around 12:10 p.m. Saturday as a line of storms developed out of the southwest.

Outages as of 2 p.m. on June 20.

As of 2 p.m., more than 8,500 customers were without power in southeast Wisconsin. By 8:30 p.m., more than 7,000 customers had power restored.

FOX6 Weather Experts expect scattered thunderstorms with a risk for more severe weather throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Heavy rain and gusty winds are the main concerns.

There is a potential for some isolated morning thunderstorms Sunday, but the rest of Father's Day should be partly to mostly sunny.
