Growing herbs, kale & preparing for next planting season

Herbs add spice to life. Many of our most commonly used culinary herbs are simple to grow and plentiful. Some come back year after year while others need to be replanted every year.

Summer raspberry season is over and it’s time to prepare the planting for next year’s crop. A lot of pruning now invigorates plants to be fruitful next summer.

Kale is no longer just a garnish. It’s easy to grow this highly nutritious crop throughout the season starting very early and extending into early winter. See the varieties growing in the Green Thumb Garden and what we will plant now for later harvest.
