Most highway projects to be put on hold for Fourth of July holiday travel
MILWAUKEE -- Ryan Luck with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to talk about everything that's going to impact your commute.
Zoo Interchange:
A reminder that all work on the freeways will halt at noon (Friday 7/1) for the holiday weekend. Work will resume on Tuesday (7/5) at 6am. Long term closures will remain in place
Look ahead to later next week:
Beginning Overnight Friday (7/8) the I-41/894 North exit to Greenfield Avenue will close until late July / Early August. Motorists should utilize the National Avenue exit to WIS 100 to Greenfield or continue on I-41/894 to I-94 East, exit at 84th Street to Greenfield Avenue
Next weekend there will be an extended closure of the I-94 East ramp to I-41/894 South (9:30pm Saturday through 11:59am Sunday) as well as an overnight closure of I-94 East at Moorland (1am Sunday 7/10 to 10am Sunday). This closure is needed to set tub girders for the new I-94 East System ramp to I-41/45 North.
Overnight on the 10th the I-94East exit to WIS 100 will close for 21 days as crews work on storm sewer construction that crosses the ramp. Motorists should utilize the Moorland Road exit to Greenfield or Bluemound or continue on I-94 East to I-41/894 South and exit at Greenfield Avenue and west to WIS 100.
There is an overnight full closure beginning at 1am on Tuesday (7/5) of I-41 South at Watertown Plank but I would say we don't have time for that.
