Tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and crocus are what most people think of as fall bulbs for spring flowers. If you want these beauties to bloom in your yard next spring, you must plant them this fall. In our soil it can be a bit of a project but it’s worth the effort for cheery blooms after a drab winter.

The so-called “minor” bulbs are smaller and lesser known but can have a major impact in your yard for many years to come. Not only are they easier to plant, they multiply and spread and get showier every year.
