MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say an 11-year-old girl was one of two victims of a shooting that happened on the city's north side on Wednesday afternoon, May 14th -- in the middle of "Ceasefire Week." This is one of THREE confirmed shootings to occur in Milwaukee on Wednesday.

"Been a bunch of crazy things going on in this city," Tony Stewart, who witnessed the shooting, said.

The shooting happened near 25th and Capitol Dr. shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Police say a 29-year-old Milwaukee man and the young girl who was with the man (but is unrelated) were shot during an argument between the male victim and the suspect.

The male victim and the young girl were taken to the hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

"I heard like, six, seven shots just go off in the back of the house. All I seen was a car speeding up the alley here and turned around and went down that way and stopped in the middle of the street and a door opened. Then they took off and went on down the street," Stewart said.

Hours later, all that was left was some broken glass near 24th Place, where Stewart says the car briefly stopped.

"It was really scary. That`s why I ran out of the house just to see what was going on," Stewart said.

Police believe the suspect shot the girl and the man from a car in the alley.

"You just wonder when you hear gunshots -- you just hope that you don`t look out and see a child, which like right now, an 11-year-old child just got hit. So you know, it`s just like crazy," Stewart said.

Jason Graham was at a nearby barbershop with his 10-year-old son when he heard the gunshots.

"Whoever did this -- they need to just get down on their knees and pray," Graham said.

"Now that it`s getting warm again, all the craziness is going to start happening," Stewart said.

Police do not have anyone in custody in connection with this shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
