A nationwide missing persons alert went out for 14-year-old Danielle Lee Wegner on Tuesday, August 2nd.
Steve and Michelle Wegner said their daughter left home after an argument -- leaving behind a short, hand-written note that said: "I'm alright. Pray for me. Love you and bye."
She was last seen on August 1st.
A call to Greendale police from a shelter in Minneapolis early Thursday morning, August 4th brought relief -- a girl matching Danielle's description walked in.

"We were able to send the Minneapolis Police Department out there with photos and they verified she was our missing person," said Greendale Police Chief Bob Malasuk.
Wegner's parents drove to Minneapolis to pick up their daughter and bring her home.
Greendale police now have questions for the teen.
"Now we will turn to the next page and try to find out the answers as to how she got there and why she got there," said Malasuk.
Police have unconfirmed reports Wegner made it to Minnesota by bus. While she was gone, relatives and neighbors searched near her Greendale home on College Avenue.
"It was really nice to see everyone come together with one common goal," said Malasuk.

Wegner's family has a message for all those who reached out.
"They feel very blessed to have the help they got. They truly are appreciative. All they ask now is for a little privacy so they can work out their family issue," said Malasuk.
Chief Malasuk said Wegner left without a cell phone or computer, so they were not able to use that technology to trace her whereabouts. He said he does not believe there was any criminal activity related to this case.
