15-year-old boy arrested following Brookfield home invasion

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are investigating a home invasion/burglary that occurred Monday, August 6th just after 5:00 p.m. on Auburn Drive. Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy from New Berlin following the incident.

Officials say a 62-year-old woman returned home to find the boy had entered her home through an open door. The boy confronted the woman in her bedroom, armed with a handgun.

Police say the boy tied the woman to a chair with electrical cords and rope, before taking items from her home and her keys, and fleeing in her car.

The woman was able to free herself and ran outside, where she had a neighbor call 911.

An officer spotted the victim's car and initiated a short chase before taking the boy into custody without incident.

The boy was charged with armed robbery, armed burglary, battery, false imprisonment and fleeing an officer.
