17-year-old pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on CTH G in Township of Lowell
DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on CTH G and Well Road in the Township of Lowell Sunday night, September 27th.
A preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Silverado, which was operated by 20-year-old Cody Buechel of Beaver Dam, was headed northbound on CTH G when the driver struck a 17-year-old pedestrian walking alongside the roadway.
The 17-year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The pedestrian has been identified as Lukas Jaeger of Juneau. He was apparently walking in the west ditch with several friends when he was struck.
Buechel suffered minor injuries, officials say, and none of the other pedestrians were hurt.
Assisting at the scene were Reeseville Fire Department, Lowell Fire Department, Clyman Fire Department, Reeseville First Responder Unit, Beaver Dam EMS, DCERT, Flight for Life.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
